Coaches, please follow these procedures only if
it is absolutely necessary to cancel the
game. You should check the field prior to
the game cancellation, or find someone to do it
for you. Fields get hard to reserve and
games should only be canceled if the field is
unplayable.
If there's a thunderstorm
approaching, the game should be cancelled
immediately.
The below procedure is for
weather related cancellations. If a cancellation
is needed for a game days in advance, just contact
Jim Gehenio (731-0539)
and he will reschedule the umpire.
1)
The home team has the responsibility of canceling
the game. Use good judgment.
Remember: If
you start a game and cancel it, you forfeit the
entire Ump game fee. It is advisable to pay the
travel fee ($13.00) and cancel before the start of
the game if there is questionable weather.
If
cancelled, call the other coach and ASA Umpire
Scheduler. For ASA Umpires call Mike Pehanich
903-6594. If possible, give Mike at
least 1 ½ - 2 hours notice before the
game. If you don’t notify the Umpire Scheduler or
it starts raining at game time, we will be
assessed an Umpire travel fee of $13.00. (This fee
comes out of our deposit to the Umpire Assoc., so
while you may not pay it out of your umpire money,
our organization does).
2) If
a doubleheader, contact the coaches of the 2nd
game. If you cancel the ump for the 1st game,
there will be no ump for the 2nd game.
3)
Find common dates with the other coach and contact
Camp Hill Girls Softball Scheduler, Jim Gehenio
(731-0539) to schedule a field. The Scheduler
will arrange umpires for the rescheduled games.
Remember that
Hoover is unavailable Tuesdays, Thursdays and
before 1:00 on Saturdays. Fiala is unavailable
Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
